Have I Told You This Already? Synopsis

Lauren Graham’s latest collection of original essays showcases her signature sense of humor and down-to-earth storytelling style as she opens up about her experiences in the entertainment industry. She shares personal stories about family, friendship, aging gracefully in Hollywood, and more. Graham provides surprising anecdotes, witty observations, and sage advice from her early job at Barney’s New York to the perils of coming from a forgetful family and the realities of being an actor (unless you’re Brad Pitt).

Have I Told You This Already? Book Review

Lately, I have been into reading more memoir books. The most recent book on my read list is, Have I Told You So Already? by Lauren Graham. If you’re a huge Lauren Graham fan, like you live and breathe Gilmore Girls and all of her other work, this is a good book for you. It’s less about her time on set for Gilmore Girls, Parenthood, and her other significant roles and more like a collection of personal stories/essays for her fans to get a glimpse into her life.

I rated this book a three because it didn’t hit the mark for me. It’s written nicely in her tone, and I can hear everything in her voice, but honestly, it bored me. I know it’s my choice to pick up a book and finish it to the end (I wanted to love this book terribly), but I could not get into it.

I was skimming a lot of the chapters and found it hard to understand how this was cohesive. It was not organized in a way that made sense from chapter to chapter. However, it can be a feel-good read.
